The following was found on the back of a photo of my great grandmother,
Jane REED, it is written by my grandfather.
"My mother whom as a child with her parents and grandparents came from Penzance Cornwall in 1856 in the sailing ship "Marion". Departed Plymouth 9 Sept 1856 arrived Pt Adelaide 19th January 1857 (more than three months on the sea). Parents William & Eliza Reed took up farming & named the property Delabole after a quarry in Cornwall."

William and Jane REED's daughters, Jane and Agnes arrived in South Australia in 1847 on the "Duchess of Northumberland". Jane married John Allen and lived in Willunga, Agnes married Michael Maddigan spending some years in Adelaide before settling in Kadina. It was not until ten years later in 1857 that the rest of the family immigrated from Cornwall. On board the "Marion" were William REED and his wife Jane. Their son James and William Jnr with his wife Eliza nee PROUT and their 4 children, Agnes, Francis, John and Jane.

James married Elizabeth CHENOWETH in 1859 at Willunga. In about 1868 they moved to Kadina.
William and Eliza had 4 more children in Willunga where they spent the rest of their days.
Agnes married William WILLSMORE.
Francis married Harriet CHAPMAN
John married Grace ARTHUR
Jane married Charles MANSFIELD, Sven SELLSTROM, Harry Sibly RUMBALL
Thirza married Thomas HUNT
William married Elizabeth BAILEY
Frederick married Catherine SIBLY
Eva married John SAMPSON
